Most fatbikes have a maximum permitted weight of 120 to 150 kilograms including luggage. All our fatbikes can carry up to 150 kg, from the QMWheel V20 Pro to the Ouxi GT2000.

The average range of a fatbike is 40 to 80 kilometers per battery charge, depending on the model and use. Want to ride further? The QMWheel V29 Pro Double Battery and the Ouxi V8 Ultra Max have two batteries; you'll find a separate extra battery among our batteries.

Laws & use
In the Netherlands, an electric bike may provide pedal assist up to a maximum of 25 km/h. Above that, it falls under the law as a moped or speed pedelec. You can ride all our fatbikes restricted (max. 25 km/h). A tunable fatbike reaches 45 km/h (QMWheel), 50 km/h (Ouxi) or 60 km/h (Ouxi GT2000) (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
Tuning a fatbike for use on public roads is not permitted. For use on private property it is allowed; tuning kits are available at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Choose a tunable fatbike or a tuning kit for your model (see the tuning guide): up to 45 km/h for QMWheel, 50 km/h for Ouxi and 60 km/h for the GT2000 (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
For a fatbike that rides up to a maximum of 25 km/h, a helmet is not legally required in the Netherlands. A helmet is, however, strongly recommended for your safety. Being clearly visible helps too: check out our fatbike lighting and the fatbike mirror.
Since 2025, a minimum age of 14 applies in the Netherlands for riding a fatbike. View all our fatbikes, from the smaller QMWheel V20 Mini to the QMWheel V29 Pro with dual battery.
Yes, a fatbike that does not go faster than 25 km/h falls under electric bikes and is allowed on the bike path. In restricted mode, all our fatbikes give pedal assistance up to a maximum of 25 km/h, such as the QMWheel V20 Pro and the Ouxi V8 Ultra. View all fatbikes.
A standard fatbike up to 25 km/h does not need a license plate. Tuned fatbikes fall under different legislation. That is why you only ride tuned with a tuning kit or a tunable fatbike on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h.
A speed pedelec is an electric bike that provides pedal assist up to 45 km/h and legally requires a moped license plate. Our tunable fatbikes have no registration plate: tuned to 45 km/h (like the QMWheel V20 Pro) or 50 km/h (like the Ouxi V8 Ultra), you only ride them on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h.
Bike insurance is not mandatory for fatbikes up to 25 km/h, but it is strongly recommended because of theft and damage. Reduce the risk of theft with an ART3 chain lock, a fatbike alarm or a GPS bicycle bell.
In the Netherlands, a continuous throttle above 6 km/h without pedaling is not permitted on public roads. For private use it is allowed. You can find replacement throttles with us, such as the fatbike thumb throttle and the Ouxi twist throttle with grip. On the Ouxi GT2000, the throttle works up to 6 km/h in restricted mode.
Only if your fatbike officially has a passenger seat with footrests. Otherwise it is not permitted. Need a rear seat or footrests? Check out the Ouxi V8/C80 rear seat, the V20 rear seat and the foldable fatbike footrests (rear).
Yes, tuning your fatbike usually voids the factory warranty. Always check your brand's terms. Read our warranty policy first. If you still choose to tune, take a look at our tunable fatbikes and tuning kits (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
No. Riding tuned is only allowed on private property. On public roads you must keep it restricted: the throttle then does 6 km/h and pedal assist 25 km/h. You switch with the supplied kill switch. Tuning up to 60 km/h is done with the GT2000 display (HC80) together with the GT2000 controller; the GT2000 2.0 needs the GT2000 2.0 controller (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
On public roads, a tuned fatbike counts as an uninsured motor vehicle. If you get stopped, you risk a fine and the police can seize your fatbike. On top of that, you are not insured if you have an accident. So only ride tuned on private property, and restrict your fatbike again as soon as you head onto public roads. With the kill switch of a tunable display, such as the QMWheel H6C display or the Ouxi HC80 display, you quickly switch back to restricted (tuned only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).

Since 1 October 2026, a maximum of 250 W and a design speed of a maximum of 25 km/h. It then counts as a bicycle in Austria. (source: ris.bka.gv.at (KFG § 1), 3-10-2026) Restricted, our fatbikes give pedal assistance up to a maximum of 25 km/h, such as the Ouxi V8 2025.
On an e-bike, a helmet is mandatory in Austria under 14. On a bicycle without an e-motor, this applies under 12. (source: bmimi.gv.at, 3-10-2026) Also handy for your safety: a GPS bicycle bell and good fatbike lighting.
From age 12. With a cycling licence (Radfahrausweis) it is allowed from age 10, or from age 9 in the fourth grade. (source: oesterreich.gv.at, 3-10-2026) Also check out smaller models such as the Ouxi V8 Ultra Mini and the QMWheel V20 Mini, or all our fatbikes.
Tuning & tuning kits
A tuning kit is a set of parts that lets you make your fatbike ride faster than the standard 25 km/h. On Fatbikeklaar.nl you'll find tuning kits for all models. Browse all tuning kits or choose a tunable fatbike: QMWheel up to 45 km/h, Ouxi up to 50 km/h and the GT2000 up to 60 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
Usually you need a tunable controller and/or display. On Fatbikeklaar.nl you'll find complete tuning kits per model. The tuning guide shows what fits your model; everything is in the tuning kits. With a tunable fatbike (Tunable version) it's already included (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
On Fatbikeklaar.nl the tuning kits are sorted by model, so you can see right away which one fits your fatbike. If in doubt, you can contact us via WhatsApp. Quicker: choose your model in the tuning guide and check your motor plug colour. The compatibility table shows which part fits which model.
Yes, tuning kits are available for the Ouxi C80 and other models on Fatbikeklaar.nl. The Ouxi V8 Ultra goes up to 50 km/h when tuned and the Ouxi GT2000 up to 60 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). Already have a C80? See Tuning the Ouxi C80.
Yes, for various Qmwheel models you'll find tuning kits and individual parts on Fatbikeklaar.nl. The QMWheel V20 Pro and the QMWheel V29 Pro go up to 45 km/h when tuned (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). Already have a V20? See Tuning the QMWheel V20.
A tuned fatbike often reaches 35 to 50 km/h, depending on the model and the tuning kit used. For example: the QMWheel V20 Pro up to 45 km/h, the Ouxi V8 Ultra up to 50 km/h and the Ouxi GT2000 up to 60 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
Yes, with a tuning kit from Fatbikeklaar.nl it's usually a matter of plug-and-play. Every kit comes with clear instructions. Choose your model in the tuning guide, check your motor plug colour and order the matching tuning kit (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
A tunable display has settings to unlock the maximum speed. Combine it with a tunable controller for the best result. For example the H6C display for QMWheel, up to 45 km/h, or the HC80 display for Ouxi V8/C80, up to 50 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). All options: displays.
Through the display you can often adjust the P-settings to change the maximum speed. Always consult your display's manual. If your display or controller is restricted, you need tunable parts: see the tuning guide and the tuning kits (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
The P-settings are parameters for wheel size, speed limit and motor power, among other things. Replacing your display? Choose the same type: browse all displays or look up your model in the compatibility table.
Set the actual wheel size, usually 20 or 26 inches. An incorrect setting affects the speed reading. New tyres in the right size are in outer tyres and inner tubes; the compatibility table shows which part fits which model.
Yes. Like the V20 and V20 Pro, the V20 Cross can be tuned. You swap the standard controller for a tunable controller with a red motor plug (500W), which takes it up to 45 km/h. All kits are in tuning kits. Combine the controller with the tunable H6C display (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). Or order the QMWheel V20 Cross straight away in the Tunable version.
With the tunable controller the V20 Cross reaches up to 45 km/h. Restricted it does 25 km/h, the legal limit on public roads. Riding tuned is only allowed on private property. For that you need the V20 Cross controller with red motor plug and the tunable H6C display (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
First check the colour of your motor plug. With a red plug you need the V20 Cross controller (500W, up to 45 km/h). Note: parts for the V20 and V20 Pro do not fit the V20 Cross. Black plug or not sure? Send us a photo via WhatsApp and we will check it for you. Check your colour with the step-by-step guide with photos; which display goes with it is shown on Tuning the V20 Cross: display and controller (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
With an NFC display you start your fatbike with the NFC card: without the card it won't switch on. That way nobody else can turn on your bike, which helps against theft and is handy if there are small children at home. You don't switch between restricted and tuned riding with the card, but with the code or the kill switch. Check out the tunable displays for your model. Tunable NFC displays: H6C with NFC for QMWheel (45 km/h) and HC80 with NFC for Ouxi V8/C80 (50 km/h), always together with a tunable controller (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
You can see it on the inside of the motor plug, not on the outside. Follow the thick cable that comes out of the motor in the rear wheel to the first plug, cut the cable ties and pull the plug firmly apart. Where the pins are you'll see the colour: red or black. Our tuning guide has step-by-step instructions with photos. The colour determines which controller and motor fit: see the controllers and motors; the plug colour is in the title.
It only takes a minute: 1) put your fatbike on its stand, 2) follow the thick motor cable from the rear wheel to the first plug, 3) cut the two cable ties, 4) hold the plug on both sides, 5) pull it firmly apart (it can't break), 6) look at the inside where the pins are: red or black. See the step-by-step guide with photos. For an Ouxi V8 or C80 that's the tunable controller with red motor plug or the one with black motor plug, both up to 50 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h); see also the plug check.
That depends on your model and your motor plug colour. On the Ouxi V8, C80 and C80 Max, a red motor plug means the 250W motor and a black one the 500W motor. On the QMWheel V20, V20 Pro, V20 Cross, S20 and S20 Pro it's the other way around: black is 250W, red is 500W. The V8 2025, V8 Ultra and Q8 each have their own controller with a red motor plug (500W motor). The GT2000 and GT2000 2.0 share one controller type, and the GT16, GT20, GT20 Pro and GT24 each have one of their own. Pick your model and plug colour in the tuning guide and you'll see straight away which tunable controller fits. For the GT2000 that's the GT2000 controller and for the GT2000 2.0 the GT2000 2.0 controller, always together with a GT2000 display, up to 60 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
The controller's plug colour must match your motor's. Red motor plug on your fatbike? Then you need a controller with a red motor plug. Black? Then a controller with a black motor plug. All our controllers have the colour in the title. Don't know your colour? Check it with the step-by-step instructions in the tuning guide. QMWheel V20, V20 Pro or S20: the tunable controller with red motor plug goes up to 45 km/h, the one with black motor plug up to 32 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). See the plug check.
Red motor plug (250W motor): the Ouxi V8/C80 tunable controller with red motor plug. Black motor plug (500W motor): the Ouxi V8/C80 tunable controller with black motor plug. Both are tunable up to 50 km/h; only the plug colour has to match. The V8 2025, V8 Ultra and Q8 each have their own tunable controller with a red motor plug (500W motor, up to 50 km/h). Combine the V8/C80 controller with a tunable display of the same type as your current one: HC80 display, HC80 display with NFC or M5 display 2.0 (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
Black motor plug (250W motor): the V20 tunable controller with black motor plug (up to 32 km/h). Red motor plug (500W motor): the V20 / V20 Pro / S20 tunable controller with red motor plug (up to 45 km/h). For the S20 Pro with a red motor plug there is a dedicated S20 Pro tunable controller with red motor plug (up to 45 km/h). Tuning always goes together with the tunable H6C display or H6C display with NFC (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h); check your colour with the plug check.
The V29 Pro tunable controller with red motor plug (500W motor, up to 45 km/h). To be safe, check your own motor plug with the step-by-step instructions in the tuning guide. Combine it with the tunable H6C display or H6C display with NFC (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). Or order the QMWheel V29 Pro straight away in the Tunable version.
No. The plug is a tight fit, so you can pull firmly. Hold it by the plug housings (not by the wires) and pull straight apart. Then push it back together; the pins only fit one way. Seen the colour? Choose the controller in the same colour from the controllers or via the tuning guide; the plug colour is in every title.
Usually, yes. The motor cable is often held to the frame with two cable ties, which stop you pulling the plug apart. Cut them with wire cutters and put a new cable tie on afterwards. Seen the colour? In the tuning guide you choose your model and plug colour and see which tunable controller fits; everything is in the tuning kits (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
No. Tunable displays such as the HC80, M5 and H6C fit both the 250W and the 500W motor. The plug colour only matters when choosing a controller. For Ouxi these are the HC80 display and the M5 display 2.0, up to 50 km/h, and for QMWheel the H6C display, up to 45 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
Go through the step-by-step instructions with photos in the tuning guide; it takes a minute. Still stuck? Send a photo of the inside of your plug via WhatsApp and we'll tell you exactly which controller you need. With a bike from the tunable fatbikes (Tunable version) you don't need to check anything: the parts are already included (only on private or enclosed property; on public roads max. 25 km/h). Separate parts: tuning kits.
No. The Ouxi C80 Mini, C63 Mini and QMWheel V20 Mini cannot be tuned: there is no tunable controller or tunable display for these models, so they stay restricted to 25 km/h. Would you like a fatbike that you can tune (on private property only)? Then take a look at the tunable fatbikes or use the product finder. Compare the plug with your current display.
Tuning per country and per model
Please note: tuning is only intended for use on private or enclosed property. On public roads, the rules of the country apply (usually a maximum of 25 km/h).
On public roads, the police can fine you € 320. After repeated offences, they may also seize and destroy the bike. (source: rijksoverheid.nl, 3-10-2026) So on public roads you ride restricted: read the rules for fatbikes in the Netherlands. Want to go faster anyway? Take a look at the tunable fatbikes (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
No. If you ride a fatbike that does not meet the rules, you are not insured and pay any damage or medical costs yourself. (source: rijksoverheid.nl, 3-10-2026) So for public roads, choose a fatbike in the restricted version. Use a tuning kit only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads.
A tuned fatbike is no longer an electric bicycle. A speed pedelec, for example, requires an AM driving licence, an approved helmet, third-party liability insurance and a yellow number plate. (source: rijksoverheid.nl and rijksoverheid.nl (speed pedelec), 3-10-2026) Want your fatbike to stay a regular e-bike? Then choose a fatbike in the restricted version; more in the rules for fatbikes in the Netherlands.
Not as a bicycle: above 25 km/h it is no longer a bicycle in Belgium. A speed pedelec requires an AM or B driving licence, a helmet, a certificate of conformity and DIV registration. (source: wegcode.be and wegcode.be (speed pedelec), 3-10-2026) For public roads, choose a fatbike in the restricted version; see also the rules for fatbikes in Belgium. Tunable fatbikes are only for private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads.
Not on public roads: above 250 W or 25 km/h it is no longer a pedelec but a motor vehicle. An S-pedelec requires, for example, an insurance plate, an AM driving licence and a helmet. (source: gesetze-im-internet.de (StVG § 1) and mobilitaetsforum.bund.de, 3-10-2026) More in the rules for fatbikes in Germany. For public roads, choose a fatbike in the restricted version.
In Germany, a tuned pedelec is a motor vehicle. If you ride it without the required driving licence, you risk up to 1 year in prison or a fine. (source: gesetze-im-internet.de (StVG § 1) and gesetze-im-internet.de (StVG § 21), 3-10-2026) So in Germany, ride restricted on public roads; see the rules for fatbikes in Germany. Riding faster on a tunable fatbike is only possible on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads.
Not as a bicycle on the road: with more than 250 W or assistance up to 45 km/h it is a moped (cyclomoteur) that must be registered. (source: service-public.gouv.fr, 3-10-2026) So use a tuning kit only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads. We ship other fatbike parts throughout the EU.
It is then no longer a bicycle but a moped (motorower): you need a licence such as AM, and it must be registered with a number plate and OC insurance. (source: policja.gov.pl, 3-10-2026) We also ship parts such as batteries and brakes to Poland. A tuning kit is only for private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads.
Not as a bicycle on the road: it becomes an L-category vehicle. According to the 2019 DGT instruction, riding without registration costs € 500 and without insurance € 1,000. (source: dgt.es (instruction 2019), 3-10-2026) So use a tuning kit only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads. We ship Ouxi parts and V20 parts throughout the EU.
No, not as a bicycle: above 250 W or 25 km/h it is no longer a bicycle in Austria. An e-moped requires a driving licence, helmet, insurance and number plate. (source: ris.bka.gv.at (KFG § 1) and bmimi.gv.at, 3-10-2026) So in Austria, ride restricted on the road; a tuning kit is only for private or enclosed property (max. 25 km/h on public roads). We ship parts throughout the EU, see the shipping policy.
Tuning means using different parts to make the fatbike go faster than the standard 25 km/h. This is only intended for private or enclosed property. For this there are complete tunable fatbikes and separate tuning kits; the product finder shows what fits your model (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Tuned, a fatbike often reaches 35 to 50 km/h, depending on the model and the parts. Only for private or enclosed property. With us, tunable QMWheel models go up to 45 km/h, Ouxi models up to 50 km/h and the Ouxi GT2000 up to 60 km/h. View all tunable fatbikes (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Usually yes: the tunable parts are plug-and-play and each part comes with instructions. Choose your model and plug colour in the product finder, or view all tuning kits (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Yes. With the tunable parts you switch back to restricted (25 km/h) before you go on public roads. Our tunable displays have a kill switch, such as the H6C display for the V20 Pro and the HC80 display with NFC for the Ouxi V8 (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
With a tunable display and a tunable controller that fit your model. In the selection guide you can see which parts you need. Prefer it ready to go? Order a tunable fatbike in the Tunable version, for example the Ouxi GT20 Pro (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
No. For the V8, C80, V20, GT2000 and GT16 up to and including GT24 you always need a tunable display and a tunable controller. Which display and controller you need is explained per model on Tuning the Ouxi V8, Tuning the V20 and Tuning the GT2000 (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Yes, always both: a tunable display and a tunable controller that fit your model and motor plug. First check your colour with the plug check, then choose your set in the product finder or among the tuning kits (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Only a tunable display has settings to release the maximum speed. Always combine it with a tunable controller. There are tunable displays for the V20 Pro (H6C display) and the Ouxi V8 (HC80 display with NFC), among others; choose the controller in the product finder (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
There is no code that works on every fatbike. The instructions come with the tunable display, which you always combine with a tunable controller. You'll find the tunable versions among the displays and controllers (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
By replacing the display and the controller with tunable versions for your model. Only intended for private or enclosed property. Which set belongs to your model is explained, for example, on Tuning the GT16 to GT24, Tuning the S20 or Tuning the C80 (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
With a tunable display and a tunable controller for your model. Riding tuned is only intended for private or enclosed property. For example the V29 Pro controller with red plug (up to 45 km/h) or the Ouxi V8 Ultra controller with red plug (up to 50 km/h); more in the product finder (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Follow the motor cable from the rear wheel to the first plug, cut the cable ties and pull the plug apart: inside you will see red or black. See the step-by-step guide with photos. Then choose the tunable controller in the same colour; for the V20 Pro that is the controller with red plug or the one with black plug; see also the product finder (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
No. The Ouxi C80 Mini, C63 Mini, V8 Ultra Mini and QMWheel V20 Mini cannot be tuned; there are no tunable parts for them. If you do want to tune, choose for example the QMWheel V20 Pro (up to 45 km/h), the Ouxi V8 Ultra (up to 50 km/h) or another tunable fatbike (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Among others the QMWheel V20 Pro, V20 Cross and S20 Pro and the Ouxi V8 2025, V8 Ultra, Q8, GT16, GT20, GT20 Pro and GT24. View all tunable fatbikes. The QMWheel V29 Pro (up to 45 km/h), the Ouxi V8 Ultra Max (up to 50 km/h) and the Ouxi GT2000 (up to 60 km/h) can also be tuned (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
With the tunable V20 controller in the colour of your motor plug (red or black), plus a tunable display. See the selection guide. The V20 Pro can be tuned up to 45 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads): after the plug check, choose the V20 Pro controller with red plug or the controller with black plug (max. 32 km/h).
Yes, there is a tunable V20 controller with a red and one with a black motor plug. Choose the colour that matches your motor plug. These are the V20 controller with red plug (up to 45 km/h) and the V20 controller with black plug (max. 32 km/h); if in doubt, do the plug check (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
The colour of the controller must match that of your motor plug: red to red, black to black. Do the plug check and then choose the tunable V20 controller with red plug or the one with black plug (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
The tunable V20 controller in the colour of your motor plug, together with a tunable display. Only intended for private or enclosed property. Choose the H6C display with kill switch or the H6C display with NFC. With the red-plug controller the V20 Pro reaches 45 km/h, with the black one 32 km/h: check your plug colour with the plug check (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
With the tunable V8/C80 controller in the colour of your motor plug, plus a tunable display. The V8 2025 and V8 Ultra each have their own controller. The V8 can be tuned up to 50 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads): after the plug check, choose the Ouxi V8/C80 controller with red plug or the one with black plug.
Just like the V8: with the tunable V8/C80 controller in the colour of your motor plug, plus a tunable display. The C80 Mini cannot be tuned. That way the C80 goes up to 50 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads). Which display (for example the HC80 display with NFC) and which controller fit is explained on Tuning the Ouxi C80.
Choose the Tunable version when ordering. If you already have one, you need a tunable GT2000 display and the tunable GT2000 controller. These are the tunable GT2000 display and the GT2000 controller; the GT2000 2.0 needs the GT2000 2.0 controller. That way it goes up to 60 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
First check whether the plug colour of your controller matches that of your motor plug. Still not working? Send a photo via WhatsApp: +31 6 82090642. Check your colour with the plug check; the right tunable controller for each V8 version is in the product finder for the Ouxi V8 and on Tuning the Ouxi V8 (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
No, the Ouxi V8 Ultra Mini cannot be tuned and is only sold restricted. If you do want to be able to tune, take a look at the Ouxi V8 Ultra. That one can be tuned up to 50 km/h, just like the Ouxi V8 Ultra Max; see all tunable fatbikes (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Yes. Choose the Tunable version when ordering; the tuning parts are then included. We deliver bikes in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Take a look at the tunable fatbikes, such as the QMWheel V20 Cross up to 45 km/h and the Ouxi GT24 up to 50 km/h (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Yes. According to our warranty policy, tuned fatbikes and tunable fatbikes that you order from us are not covered by the warranty. Want to keep your warranty? Then choose a fatbike in the Restricted version with Assembled delivery, for example from the Warehouse Deals.
Not once the part has been configured or activated for you. If it is still unopened, ask via WhatsApp (+31 6 82090642) whether an exchange is possible. So choose carefully beforehand: the product finder and the plug check show which display and controller fit your fatbike.
Yes. We test every tunable display and every controller on a fatbike before it is shipped: connecting, tuning and switching back. See the tested sets among the tuning kits or go straight for a complete tunable fatbike (only on private or enclosed property; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Battery & electronics
A well-maintained fatbike battery lasts on average 500 to 1000 charge cycles, which comes down to 3 to 5 years of use. Battery worn out after that? Among our fatbike batteries you'll find a replacement for each model, and among our fatbike chargers the right charger.
Charge the battery at room temperature and always use the original charger. Avoid fully draining it for the longest lifespan. Lost or broken your original charger? Choose the right one from our fatbike chargers, such as the V20 charger 48V (3-pin) or the Fatbike Charger 48V (1-pin) for Ouxi.
A fatbike battery is usually fully charged in 4 to 6 hours, depending on capacity and charger. Don't want to wait for charging? Get an extra battery for your fatbike to swap, or a second fatbike charger for work.
Yes, but always charge in a dry place with good ventilation and keep an eye on it. Never leave the battery charging unattended overnight. If your charger or its cable is damaged, stop charging and replace it: see our fatbike chargers and the separate fatbike charger cable.
Yes, you can always just pedal without assistance. It does become harder due to the weight. Need more range? Get a spare battery from our fatbike batteries, or choose a fatbike with extra capacity such as the QMWheel V20 Cross (48V/22Ah) or the QMWheel V29 Pro with two batteries.
No, frost can damage the battery. Always store the battery in a frost-free place. So take the battery indoors in winter. If it is damaged anyway, you'll find a replacement among our fatbike batteries; the compatibility table shows which one fits your model.
Preferably charge after every ride and make sure the battery never stays fully empty for a long time. Charging at work too? You'll find a second charger among our fatbike chargers; the compatibility table shows which parts belong to your model.
Yes, replacement batteries are available for most brands. Check Fatbikeklaar.nl for compatible batteries. For example the V20 battery 48V for the QMWheel V20 and V20 Pro or the Ouxi V8/C80 battery 48V; all batteries by model are in our fatbike batteries.
Signs include draining quickly, no longer charging, or the power output suddenly stopping. You can find a new battery at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Not sure? First test with a different fatbike charger. If the battery really is dead, choose a replacement from the fatbike batteries by model.
Most fatbike batteries have a voltage of 48V, with some models being 36V or 52V. Mini models run on 36V, for example with the V20 Mini battery 36V; most other models on 48V, such as with the V20 battery 48V. Everything by model is in our fatbike batteries.
Standard batteries have 10 to 20 Ah; the more Ah, the greater the range. Each battery only fits its own model. High-capacity examples are the V20 Cross battery 48V/22Ah and the Ouxi Q8 battery 48V/20Ah; everything by model in our fatbike batteries.
Higher voltage means more power and speed. 48V is standard for most fatbikes. More speed? With a tuning kit, tunable models go up to 45 km/h (QMWheel), 50 km/h (Ouxi) or 60 km/h (GT2000); the product finder shows what fits (only on private or closed-off land; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
Only if your controller and motor can handle 52V. Always check the specifications before you upgrade. If you mainly want more speed, choose a tunable controller that fits your model: see the tuning kits and first check your motor plug with the plug check (only on private or closed-off land; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
No. Airlines apply a limit of around 100Wh for lithium batteries, and a fatbike battery is far above that. So it is not allowed on the plane, not even in the hold. Going on holiday? Transport your fatbike by car or pick a destination within riding distance. Going on holiday by car? Secure your fatbike along the way with a Toplock chain lock (100 cm) or a Premium fatbike alarm.
A well-maintained fatbike battery lasts 500 to 1000 charge cycles on average. That is roughly 3 to 5 years of use. Battery due for replacement? Choose the battery for your model from our fatbike batteries; the compatibility table shows which one fits.
With good maintenance, a fatbike battery pack lasts 3 to 5 years on average, or 500 to 1000 charges. You'll find a new battery for each model among our fatbike batteries, for example the V20 battery 48V or the Ouxi V8/C80 battery 48V.
Your battery is often broken if it drains quickly, no longer charges or the power suddenly cuts out. Could it be the charger? Test with a different fatbike charger. If the problem remains, you'll find a new battery for each model among our fatbike batteries.
Yes, a replacement battery is available for most models. You can find them per model in our batteries. The compatibility table shows which one belongs to your model; examples are the V20 battery 48V and the Ouxi V8/C80 battery 48V.
Usually 4 to 6 hours, depending on the capacity of the battery and the charger. Back on the road quickly? Swap in a second battery for your fatbike, and keep an extra fatbike charger at work.
Charge at room temperature and always use the original charger. Preferably do not run the battery completely flat; that way it lasts longest. Lost your charger? Match the voltage and connector: the V20 charger 48V (3-pin) goes with a 3-pin V20 battery, the Fatbike Charger 48V (1-pin) with 1-pin Ouxi batteries.
Preferably, yes. Charge after every ride and never leave the battery empty for a long time. A second charger at work saves carrying one around: see our fatbike chargers. If the battery no longer holds its charge, you'll find a new one among the fatbike batteries.
Yes, in a dry place with good ventilation and while you are present. Never leave the battery charging unattended overnight. Never use a damaged charger: you'll find a new one among our fatbike chargers, and you can replace a broken cable with the separate fatbike charger cable.
No, never leave your battery charging unattended overnight. Charge it in a dry, ventilated place while you are present. If the charging port is loose or damaged, don't charge and replace it, for Ouxi for example with the Ouxi charging port (1-pin). Replace a worn charger via our fatbike chargers.
Check the wall socket and whether the plug is properly inserted in the battery. Then test with another charger, or send us a WhatsApp message at +31 6 82090642. Sometimes only the separate fatbike charger cable is broken. If the charger itself is faulty, choose a new one from our fatbike chargers.
Preferably use the original charger. A different charger must have the same voltage and the same connector (number of pins) as your battery. For example: the V20 charger 48V (3-pin) for a 3-pin V20 battery, the Fatbike Charger 48V (1-pin) for 1-pin Ouxi batteries and the Fatbike Charger 36V (1-pin) for a 1-pin 36V battery.
No, frost can damage the battery. Always store it in a frost-free place. Battery damaged by frost anyway? You'll find a replacement among our fatbike batteries; the compatibility table shows which one fits your model.
Take the battery out of the bike and store it indoors in a dry, frost-free place, charged to around 50% and at room temperature. Getting back on the bike in spring? First charge the battery with the right fatbike charger. If it no longer holds its charge, you'll find a replacement among our fatbike batteries.
No. A fatbike battery is far above the limit of about 100Wh that airlines use, so it is not allowed in the hold either. Taking your fatbike by car? Lock it at your destination with an ART3 chain lock (120 cm) or protect it with a fatbike alarm.
Yes, you can simply pedal without assistance. Because of the weight of a fatbike, it is harder work though. Want to go further? Get a spare battery from our fatbike batteries, or choose a fatbike with a large battery such as the Ouxi Q8 (48V/20Ah) or the Ouxi GT16 (48V/20Ah).
The battery of the QMWheel V20 Pro is 48V / 15Ah, 720Wh in total. As a replacement, you can use the V20 - Battery 48V. With a 3-pin connector, charge it with the V20 charger 48V (3-pin). More parts for this model are in the V20 parts.
Usually 48V. Some models run on 36V, such as the mini models, or on 52V. For a new battery or charger, always choose the same voltage as your bike: everything by model is in our fatbike batteries and fatbike chargers.
Ah (ampere-hour) is the capacity of the battery: the more Ah, the further you get. Usually it is 10 to 20 Ah. High-capacity examples are the Ouxi GT16 battery 48V/20Ah and the S20 Pro battery 48V/18Ah. Each battery only fits its own model, see the compatibility table.
48V is the standard for most fatbikes; mini models run on 36V. A 36V and a 48V battery are not interchangeable. So always choose the battery for your own model, such as the V20 Mini battery 36V or the V20 battery 48V; the compatibility table shows which one fits.
Only if your controller and motor can handle 52V. Always check the specifications first. Rather go faster without a different battery? With a tuning kit, tunable models reach 45 (QMWheel), 50 (Ouxi) or 60 km/h (GT2000), see the tunable fatbikes (only on private or closed-off land; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
The Ouxi V8 takes the Ouxi V8/C80 - Battery 48V of 15Ah. It comes with two keys. This battery goes with the Fatbike Charger 48V (1-pin). If the lock is broken, there is the separate Fatbike battery lock.
The Ouxi V8/C80 - Battery 48V. It also fits the V8 Pro, V8 Max, C80 Pro, C80 Max, H9 and C63, but not the mini models. See the Ouxi V8/C80 battery 48V; if the holder in your bike is damaged, there is the Ouxi V8/C80 battery holder (15Ah, 4-pin).
The V20 - Battery 48V. It also fits the V20, S20, V30, V20 Max and V20 Limited, but not the V20 Cross. The V20 Cross uses the V20 Cross battery 48V/22Ah. If your battery has a 3-pin connector, charge it with the V20 charger 48V (3-pin).
No, the V20 Cross has its own 48V / 22Ah battery (1056Wh). The V20 Cross can be tuned up to 45 km/h with the V20 Cross controller (red plug) and the tunable H6C display (only on private or closed-off land; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
No, the Ouxi V8 Ultra Mini runs on 36V. It needs the Ouxi V8 Ultra Mini - Battery 36V 10.4Ah instead. Only charge it with a 36V charger with the same connector, see our fatbike chargers. If the battery lock is broken, the separate Fatbike battery lock fits.
Both run on a 36V battery: the V20 Mini on the V20 Mini - Battery 36V, the C80 Mini on the Ouxi C80 Mini/C63 Mini - Battery 36V. Only charge a 36V battery with a 36V charger with the same connector, such as the Fatbike Charger 36V (1-pin) for a 1-pin battery. More parts: V20 parts and Ouxi parts.
Two. The V29 Pro runs on two removable 48V / 15Ah batteries (720Wh), 1440Wh in total; a separate battery is available on its own. The V29 Pro can be tuned up to 45 km/h with the V29 Pro controller (red plug) and the tunable H6C display (only on private or closed-off land; on public roads max. 25 km/h).
That depends on the connector on your battery. With 3 pins, use the V20 - Charger 48V (3 Pins Battery); for older models with 1 pin, the Fatbike Charger 48V (1-Pin). For older 1-pin batteries, that is the Fatbike Charger 48V (1-pin). If your battery itself is worn out, the V20 battery 48V fits.
The Fatbike Charger 48V (1-Pin). It fits all Ouxi models with a 48V battery with 1 pin, such as the V8 and C80. For a 1-pin 36V battery there is the Fatbike Charger 36V (1-pin), for the GT2000 the GT2000 charger. All chargers: fatbike chargers.
Send a photo of the battery lock via WhatsApp to +31 6 82090642, and we will find the matching lock or key for you. If the lock needs replacing, the separate Fatbike battery lock fits all Ouxi and QMWheel models. In the meantime, secure your bike extra with a fatbike chain lock.
Yes. The Fatbike Battery Lock is a separate replacement lock that fits all Ouxi and QMWheel models. Also secure your fatbike with a sturdy Power1 ART2 chain lock or a fatbike alarm.
Drivetrain (motor, controller & display)
The controller is the brain of your fatbike. It regulates the power from the battery to the motor. Replacement controllers are available at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Replacement controllers by model and plug colour are in our fatbike controllers; the plug check shows which colour you need.
The controller regulates the power to the motor, while the display shows information and allows settings to be changed. Both are essential for the operation and tuning of your fatbike. You'll find separate controllers and displays for each model. To tune your fatbike you usually need both; the product finder shows which ones fit (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
The difference is in the software, not in the number of amps. The speed limit is set in the controller's software. A tunable controller has software that allows more speed, intended for private property only. Which controller fits depends on your model and the colour of your motor plug: red fits red, black fits black. Not sure? Send a photo of your plug via WhatsApp. Check your colour with the plug check. Tunable controllers per model are in the tuning kits, restricted ones in the controllers (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
At Fatbikeklaar.nl you'll find the right display for each model, such as the HC80, H6c, and M5 displays. For example the H6C display for the V20 and V20 Pro or the M5 display for Ouxi 2.0 models; all screens are in our displays.
A sinusoidal controller provides smoother acceleration and quieter motor operation than a standard controller. Available at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Choose a controller for your model and plug colour in our fatbike controllers; the plug check shows which colour you have.
Connect all plugs based on color or label. Every controller from Fatbikeklaar.nl comes with a wiring diagram. If the plug doesn't fit, you need a different plug colour: check this with the plug check. We also sell a new wiring harness.
A hub motor sits in the wheel, while a mid-drive motor sits at the bottom bracket. Hub motors are cheaper, while mid-drive motors deliver more torque and better balance. Replacement hub motors, on their own or with a rear rim, are in our fatbike motors, such as the Ouxi 250W motor with red plug.
Most fatbikes have a hub motor of 250 to 1000 watts in the rear wheel. A replacement hub motor, on its own or with a rear rim, is in our fatbike motors. Choose the same plug colour as your current motor (plug check).
Legally a maximum of 250 watts continuous power for use on public roads in the Netherlands. Looking for a 250W replacement motor? Take a look at our fatbike motors. Read more about the law in the rules for e-bikes and fatbikes in the Netherlands.
Replacing a hub motor requires removing the wheel and disconnecting the wiring. For separate motors, you can head to Fatbikeklaar.nl. Choose a motor with the same plug colour, such as the Ouxi 250W motor (red plug) or the motor with rear rim (red plug); all options are in our motors.
A hall sensor in the motor measures the position of the magnets and sends this information to the controller. Hall sensors sit inside the motor itself. A replacement hub motor for your model is in our fatbike motors; mind the plug colour (plug check).
The PAS (Pedal Assist Sensor) registers your pedaling pace and controls the motor to assist you. A new pedal sensor is in our sensors, for example the V20 pedal sensor (2.0 and newer) or the Ouxi pedal sensor (2.0 and newer).
A throttle lets you ride without pedaling, similar to a scooter. Replacement throttles are available for purchase at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Choose for example a thumb throttle, the Ouxi twist throttle with grip or the V20 twist throttle; make sure the plug fits your wiring harness.
The tunable controller with the red motor plug (500W): V20 Cross tunable controller. Controllers for the V20 and V20 Pro do not fit the V20 Cross. Not sure? Send us a photo of your motor plug via WhatsApp. To tune it up to 45 km/h, combine it with the tunable H6C display; everything per model is on Tuning the V20 (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
No. The V20 Cross has its own controller, which is different from the V20 Pro's. They are not interchangeable, even if the plug colour is the same. Always choose the controller for your own model. For the V20 Cross: the V20 Cross controller (red plug, 45 km/h); for the V20 Pro: the V20 Pro controller with red plug (45 km/h) or with black plug (32 km/h). Only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads.
A kill switch is a switch that lets you flip between restricted and tuned yourself, without tools. The Ouxi GT2000 and GT2000 2.0 in the Tunable version come with one as standard: restricted the throttle does 6 km/h, tuned 60 km/h. You tune a restricted GT2000 up to 60 km/h with both the tunable GT2000 display and the GT2000 controller; the GT2000 2.0 needs the 2.0 controller (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
The controller is the brain of your fatbike: it regulates the power from the battery to the motor. Replacement controllers by model and plug colour are in our fatbike controllers.
A fatbike controller is the part that regulates the power from the battery to the motor. Without a working controller, the motor does not run. If your controller is broken, choose a new controller with the same plug colour; you can check it with the plug check.
Yes, you can usually do that yourself. Connect the plugs by colour or label using the wiring diagram that comes with the controller. New controllers for Ouxi and QMWheel are in our controllers; not sure about the plug? Do the plug check first.
No. The V20 Cross has its own controller that is not interchangeable with that of the V20 Pro, not even with the same plug colour. Together with the tunable H6C display, the V20 Cross controller (red plug) can be tuned up to 45 km/h; more on Tuning the V20 (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
That is the display on your handlebar. Among other things, it shows your speed, the battery level and the assistance level. You'll find a new display in our displays, for example the H6C display for the V20 or the HC80 display for the Ouxi V8 and C80.
Yes. Screen, small screen and display are the same part: the unit on your handlebar that shows speed and battery level, among other things. All screens per model are in our displays. Want to tune? Take a look at the tuning kits (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
That depends on your model and your plug. Each display lists the models it fits, such as the H6C display for the V20 and the M5 display for Ouxi 2.0 models. Want to tune? There are tunable versions such as the H6C display (45 km/h) and the M5 display (50 km/h); the product finder shows what fits your model (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
The QMWheel V20 and V20 Pro have an H6C display with a 48V 5-pin plug. The H6C display is also available separately. Tuning up to 45 km/h? Choose the tunable H6C display plus the V20/V20 Pro controller with red plug or black plug (black up to 32 km/h; only on private or closed-off land, max. 25 km/h on public roads).
That depends on the generation. For the Ouxi V8 2.0 there is the M5 display; if you are not sure which display you have, send a photo via WhatsApp. You tune a V8 2.0 up to 50 km/h with the tunable M5 display plus the V8 controller with red plug or the one with a black plug, matching your motor plug: check it with the plug check (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Only a display that matches your model and plug. Each display lists the models it fits. We stock matching displays for every model. Want to tune? Then choose a tunable display with controller from the tuning kits (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Check that the plug is firmly connected and the cable is intact, and that the throttle is enabled in the P setting of your display. If it still does not work, the throttle is usually faulty. A new one is available as a thumb throttle or an Ouxi twist throttle with grip; for the V20 there is the V20 twist throttle.
Check the plug and the cable of the throttle. If it still does not respond, the throttle is usually faulty; a new one is easy to fit. For the V20 there are the V20 twist throttle and the V20 twist throttle with grip.
Yes, a throttle is easy to replace yourself. Make sure the plug fits the connector of your wiring harness. Choose a thumb throttle or a twist throttle for Ouxi or the V20; not sure about the plug? Send a photo via WhatsApp.
Manufacturers use a red or black motor plug to tell versions apart. Choose a part with the same plug colour; if in doubt, send a photo via WhatsApp. Check your colour with the plug check. For example, the V20 Pro has a tunable controller with a red plug (up to 45 km/h) and a black plug (up to 32 km/h) (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
The PAS sensor, also called the pedal sensor, detects that you are pedalling and drives the motor to assist you. A replacement pedal sensor is in our sensors, such as the V20 pedal sensor and the Ouxi pedal sensor.
A hub motor sits in the wheel, a mid-drive motor at the bottom bracket. Hub motors are cheaper; mid-drive motors give more torque and better balance. Replacement hub motors for Ouxi and QMWheel, also with a rear rim, are in our fatbike motors; choose the same plug colour as your current motor.
Repairs & troubleshooting
Common causes are an empty battery, a broken controller, a defective throttle, or loose wiring. At Fatbikeklaar.nl you will find replacement parts to solve the problem. Choose a new controller with the same motor plug colour, see the plug check. A replacement battery per model is under batteries.
First check the battery and all plug connections. If the problem persists, a new display may be needed, available at Fatbikeklaar.nl. You will find a new display under displays, including for the V20, V29 Pro, V8 and C80; if the problem is in the wiring, check the wiring harnesses.
It's often caused by a loose chain, a poorly adjusted brake, or a worn bearing. Check the parts or have a professional take a look. You can order a new chain, new brake pads or a bottom bracket separately from us.
Check that the wheels are straight and the nuts are properly tightened. Aligning the wheel often helps. If the wheel nuts are loose or missing, use the Rear Wheel Nut Set; replace a warped disc via the brake discs.
Clean the brake disc with brake cleaner and check for dirt or grease. If the brake pads are worn, replace them with new ones, available at Fatbikeklaar.nl. New pads for Zoom and Logan brakes are under brake pads, and a replacement disc under brake discs.
Let the fatbike dry out thoroughly before you turn it on. In the event of damage to the electronics, parts can be replaced via Fatbikeklaar.nl. If something no longer works after drying, you will find separate displays, controllers and wiring harnesses per model.
This is often caused by a loose hall sensor or damaged wiring. Check all the connections or replace the controller. Choose a new controller with the same motor plug colour; verify it with the plug check. Replace damaged wiring via the wiring harnesses.
Check the PAS sensor, cables, and magnet ring. Replacement sensors are for sale at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Suitable pedal sensors include the V20 pedal sensor (2.0 and newer) or the Ouxi pedal sensor (2.0 and newer); all variants are under sensors.
Error codes point to specific problems such as the motor, controller, or battery. Consult your display's manual for the exact meaning. If the code points to a faulty part, you will find replacement controllers, displays and motors per model.
First look at the type, model, and year of your fatbike. If in doubt, the team at Fatbikeklaar.nl will help you via WhatsApp. Handy: the compatibility table shows which part fits which model, and the selection guide helps you with displays and controllers.
First check that the charger is firmly connected to both the battery and the wall socket, and that the light on the charger is on. A battery that is deeply discharged or very cold sometimes won't charge for a while, so let it warm up to room temperature first. If the problem persists, test with a different charger. Not sure whether the battery or the charger is faulty? Send us a message on WhatsApp and we'll help you figure it out. If the charger or cable is broken, you will find a replacement under chargers or a separate charger cable; a new battery per model is under batteries.
First check that the throttle's connector is plugged in properly and that the cable isn't damaged. Some displays also have a P-setting that switches the throttle on or off. If it still doesn't respond after that, the throttle itself is usually faulty, and it's easy to replace. Please note: on public roads, a throttle that works above 6 km/h is not permitted. A new throttle is available as the Fatbike Thumb Throttle or as a twist throttle for Ouxi and V20.
Check that the battery is charged, firmly in place and switched on, and that all plugs are connected. If the display still does not switch on, a new display may be needed. You will find a new display under displays; if the battery or the on/off button is the cause, check the batteries or the Ouxi V8/C80 battery switch.
First check the battery and all plug connections. If the display still does not switch on, a new display may be needed. You can find a new display among our displays; for a tunable model you can choose a tuning set (display + controller) via the selection guide: up to 45 km/h for QMWheel, 50 for Ouxi, 60 for the GT2000 (only on private or closed-off grounds; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Check that the battery is charged and that all plugs of the display are firmly connected. If the screen stays black, a new display may be needed. Replacements are available for the V20, V20 Pro and V29 Pro (H6C display) and the Ouxi V8/C80 (HC80 display), among others; everything is under displays.
This is often caused by a loose hall sensor or damaged wiring. Check all connections; if that does not help, replace the controller. Choose a new controller with the same motor plug colour, or for a tunable model a tuning kit: up to 45 km/h for QMWheel, 50 for Ouxi, 60 for the GT2000 (only on private or closed-off grounds; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Check the PAS sensor (pedal sensor), the cables and the magnet ring. You can find a replacement pedal sensor in the sensors. Mind the generation: there are also pedal sensors for the V20 1.0 and V20 Mini and for the Ouxi 1.0 (long cable). If the cable on your Ouxi is too short, use the Ouxi pedal sensor extension cable.
Let the bike and the electronics dry thoroughly before switching it on. If a part no longer works afterwards, you can replace it separately. You will find replacement parts under electronics, from wiring harnesses to lighting.
Maintenance
Do a major service at least once a year and check the tire pressure, brakes, and chain monthly. Wear parts for your maintenance, such as brake pads, chains and fatbike tyres, can be ordered separately from Fatbikeklaar.nl.
First clean the chain with a cloth and then apply chain oil to each link. Wipe off the excess for optimal performance. If the chain is stretched, replace it with the Fatbike Chain. Also check the cassettes: a worn sprocket wears out a new chain faster.
Turn the adjustment screw on the brake caliper until the brake pads lightly touch the disc without dragging. Hydraulic brakes may need to be bled. Everything for bleeding hydraulic brakes is in brake maintenance; replace worn pads with our brake pads.
On average every 1,500 to 3,000 km, depending on use and type of brakes. For pads that last longer, choose Sintered Longlife, such as the Zoom Sintered Longlife brake pads or Logan Sintered Longlife brake pads; all types are under brake pads.
Yes, most fatbikes are splash-proof. Avoid deep puddles and never spray with a pressure washer. Good fatbike lighting makes sure you are seen in rain and darkness, and mudguards keep you a lot drier.
Store your fatbike in a dry, frost-free place. Remove the battery and store it at around 50% charge at room temperature. If your battery lasts less after winter, you will find a new one per model under batteries. A fatbike alarm protects your fatbike in storage.
The saddle should be at hip height when you stand next to the bike, so that your leg is almost fully extended at the lowest pedal. If your saddle is still not comfortable after adjusting it, take a look at our fatbike saddles, such as the Ouxi V8 Pro/C80 Pro saddle.
You check the wear with a chain gauge. If there is more than 0.75% stretch, the chain must be replaced. Replace a worn chain with, for example, the Fatbike Chain. A chain guard for Ouxi or the V20 keeps dirt away from your chain.
Turn the adjustment screw on the derailleur until the chain shifts smoothly. Start in the highest gear and work down. If it still shifts poorly afterwards, the Shimano derailleur or the Shimano shifter may be worn; everything is under gear parts.
Check your tyre pressure (it drops in cold weather), lubricate the chain a little more often, check your brake pads and make sure your lights work now that it gets dark earlier. Bring the battery indoors after every ride and store it frost-free at around 50% charge. You'll find replacements for worn parts in our parts collection. Order before 23:59, delivered tomorrow. For the dark days you can buy fatbike lighting and mudguards separately; if your battery lasts less after winter, check the batteries.
On paved roads 1.5 to 2 bar, on sand or a soft surface 0.5 to 1 bar. More is on the page tyre pressure. With the Fatbike Pump you keep the pressure at the right level; if your tyre is worn, check the outer tyres.
On the road 1.5 to 2 bar. If you ride on sand or a soft surface, 0.5 to 1 bar. Inflate your tyre with the Fatbike Pump; replace a punctured or worn tyre with our inner tubes and outer tyres.
Look at the size on the side of your outer tyre, for example 16x4.0, 20x4.0 or 24x4.0, and choose an inner tube in the same size. Also pay attention to the valve. We have inner tubes in 16x4.0, 20x4.0 and 24x4.0.
The GT2000 has 24x4.0 inch tyres. For that there is the GT2000 24 inch inner tube. If you are also replacing the outer tyre, choose a 24x4.0 tyre such as the Kenda Krusade 24x4.0; more matching parts are in the GT2000 knowledge base.
A 20x4.0 tyre, for example the Kenda Krusade 20x4.0. Always copy the size shown on the side of your current tyre. Pick up a new 20x4.0 inner tube at the same time; all sizes are under outer tyres.
Remove the wheel, let the air out of the tyre and lever the outer tyre off the rim with tyre levers. Put the new inner tube in and reassemble everything in reverse order. You will find a new inner tube in the right size under inner tubes; then inflate it to pressure with the Fatbike Pump.
Loosen the wheel nuts, disconnect the motor cable and take the chain off the sprocket. Be careful with the wiring. Replace lost or worn wheel nuts with the Rear Wheel Nut Set; a new motor or rear rim with motor is under motors.
On average every 1500 to 3000 km, depending on your use and the type of brakes. New brake pads come in Standard and Sintered Longlife for Zoom and Logan brakes; if the disc is worn too, check the brake discs.
Check which brand name is on your brake caliper or brake lever: Zoom or Logan. For both we have brake pads in Standard and Sintered Longlife. If the whole brake needs replacing, there are complete hydraulic Zoom brake sets and Logan brake sets (front and rear).
Clean the brake disc with brake cleaner and check for dirt or grease on it. If the brake pads are worn, replace them. New pads are, for example, the Zoom Standard brake pads or Logan Standard brake pads; which one you need is shown on your brake caliper. A replacement disc is under brake discs.
Turn the adjusting screw on the brake caliper until the brake pads lightly touch the disc without dragging. Hydraulic brakes may need bleeding. For bleeding there is the bleed kit for hydraulic brakes; parts for mechanical brakes are under mechanical brake systems.
First clean the chain with a cloth, apply chain oil to every link and wipe off the excess. If the chain is stretched or rusted, you will find a new one under chains, such as the Fatbike Chain.
The Fatbike Chain fits the Ouxi V8, V8 Pro, C80, H9 and Q8 and the QMWheel V20, V20 Pro, V20 Max, V30 and S20. Check the type and length beforehand. If the sprocket is worn too, check the cassettes; chains, cranks and bottom brackets are under drivetrain.
Turn the adjusting screw on the derailleur until the chain shifts smoothly. Start in the highest gear and work your way down. If shifting stays stiff, you will find derailleur and shifter under gear parts; an Ouxi derailleur guard or QMWheel derailleur guard prevents a bent derailleur.
A major service at least once a year. In addition, check the tyre pressure, the brakes and the chain every month. Handy for your monthly check: the Fatbike Pump for tyre pressure and new brake pads when they are worn. All wear parts are under parts.
Use a damp cloth and mild soap. Never spray the electronics with a pressure washer. If something still stops working due to moisture, you will find replacements under electronics, such as displays and wiring harnesses.
Yes, most fatbikes are splash-proof. Do avoid deep puddles. With a front mudguard and a rear mudguard you stay a lot drier in the rain. Lubricate the chain briefly after a wet ride.
Set the saddle at hip height when you stand next to the bike. With the pedal at its lowest point, your leg is then almost straight. Still not comfortable? Check the saddles, such as the short black fatbike saddle; long grips are also available separately.
First remove the handlebar and the front wheel, then loosen the headset nut. A new front fork sometimes requires professional installation. You will find a new front fork under front forks, such as the 20-inch Ouxi front fork; the stem is also available separately.
Check the tyre pressure, lubricate the chain more often and check the brake pads and the lighting. Take the battery indoors after every ride. You can order new brake pads and lighting separately, and the Fatbike Pump keeps your tyre pressure at the right level.
Replacing parts
Remove the wheel, take off the old tire and inner tube, and fit the new ones in reverse order. Spare tires and inner tubes are available at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Choose the right size in our tyres and inner tubes, for example the 20x4.0 inner tube.
Most fatbikes have 20x4 inch tires, some models 26x4 inch. We sell, among others, the 20x4.0 tyre (Kenda Krusade) and the 20x4.0 inner tube; all sizes are in our tyres and tubes.
For paved roads 1.5 to 2 bar, for sand or soft surfaces 0.5 to 1 bar. More explanation is on the tyre pressure page. Pump up your tyres with the fatbike bicycle pump.
Remove the brake caliper, take out the retaining pin and replace the pads. You can find new brake pads at Fatbikeklaar.nl. Choose brake pads that suit your brake system, such as Zoom brake pads or Logan brake pads; all types are in our brake pads.
First remove the handlebar and the front wheel, then loosen the headset nut. A new front fork sometimes requires professional installation. A new front fork is in our front forks, such as the Ouxi 20-inch front fork.
Most fatbikes use a 1/2 x 1/8 inch chain, always check your own specification. A new fatbike chain is in our chains; more drivetrain parts are under drivetrain.
Loosen the wheel nuts, disconnect the motor cable and take the chain off the sprocket. Be careful with the wiring. Handy when refitting: a new nut set for the rear wheel. If the motor itself needs replacing, take a look at our fatbike motors.
A freewheel is the sprocket assembly at the rear that keeps spinning after you stop pedaling. Replacement sprockets are in our cassettes, more drivetrain parts under drivetrain.
Using a freewheel remover, you unscrew it from the hub. At Fatbikeklaar.nl you can find replacement freewheels. We also sell a cassette sprocket and the cassette removal tool; more drivetrain parts are under drivetrain.
Manufacturers use different plug colours (for example a red or black motor plug) to tell variants apart. A new part must have the same plug as your current part, otherwise it won't fit. For our products, the plug colour is listed in the title or description. The tuning guide shows you step by step how to check your motor plug colour. Not sure? Send a photo of your plug via WhatsApp and we'll find the right part for you. For example, the tunable Ouxi V8 controller comes with a red plug and with a black plug, both up to 50 km/h (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads). The plug check shows which one you need.
Look at the brand, the model and the year of manufacture. Each part lists the models it fits; if in doubt, send a photo via WhatsApp +31 6 82090642. Look up your model in the fit table or go straight to the Ouxi parts and the V20 parts.
Many parts do, such as the 48V battery, the chain and the headlight. Each part lists the models it fits. For example the Ouxi V8/C80 battery 48V and the fatbike chain; everything is in our Ouxi parts.
Some do, such as the V20 battery, the chain and the headlight. The S20 Pro does have its own battery. Take a look at the V20 battery 48V, the S20 Pro battery 48V 18Ah and the rest of the V20 parts.
Not all of them. The V20 Cross has its own controller and its own battery (48V 22Ah). Always choose the part for your own model. The V20 Cross has its own V20 Cross battery 48V 22Ah and V20 Cross controller, tunable up to 45 km/h (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
For the GT2000 we have a 24 inch inner tube and a charger. Looking for another part? Send a photo via WhatsApp. Tuning up to 60 km/h works with both the tunable GT2000 display and the GT2000 controller; for the GT2000 2.0 use the 2.0 controller (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Including the 48V battery, brake sets and brake levers, the chain, motors, headlights, footrests, a rear seat and an alarm. Everything is in the Ouxi parts. For example the Ouxi V8 battery 48V. Tuning up to 50 km/h works with a display and controller per plug colour, see Tuning the Ouxi V8 (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Including the V20 battery, brake sets and brake levers, the chain, a headlight and rear light, rear seats, a shock absorber and an alarm. Everything is in the V20 parts. For example the V20 battery 48V. Tuning up to 45 km/h is possible with a tunable H6C display and the controller with a red or black plug (black up to 32 km/h; only on private or closed-off land, max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Including the V20 battery, brake sets and brake levers, the chain, lighting, a motor, a shock absorber and an alarm. Everything is in our V20 parts. Tuning up to 45 km/h is possible with the V20 Pro controller with a red or black plug (black up to 32 km/h; only on private or closed-off land, max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Including the 48V battery, brake sets and brake levers, the chain, motors, a front fork, a saddle, a rear seat and an alarm. For example the Ouxi V8/C80 battery 48V; more is on the C80 parts page and in our Ouxi parts.
Including the 36V battery, brake sets and brake levers, a motor, a 16 inch inner tube, a kickstand and an alarm. For example the C80 Mini battery 36V, the 16-inch inner tube and the C80/C63 Mini motor.
Including the 36V battery, a headlight with Bluetooth speaker, a motor, a 16 inch inner tube, a shock absorber and an alarm. For example the V20 Mini battery 36V, the V20 Mini headlight with Bluetooth speaker and the 16-inch inner tube.
Including the 48V 20Ah battery, brake sets and brake levers, the chain, motors, lighting, a front fork and an alarm. For example the Q8 battery 48V 20Ah. Tuning up to 50 km/h works with the Q8 controller with red plug and the tunable M5 display (only on private or closed-off land; max. 25 km/h on public roads).
Including the 48V battery, brake sets and brake levers, the chain, motors, headlights, a front fork and a shock absorber. For example the Ouxi battery 48V (V8/C80/H9) and the H9 rear shock spring; more is on the H9 parts page.
Accessories & safety
Use at least an ART-2 or higher approved lock. At Fatbikeklaar.nl you can find good locks specially for fatbikes. For example the ART2 chain lock (Power1) or the ART3 chain lock; all options are in locks.
Always secure your fatbike to a fixed object with an approved lock, preferably use 2 locks. Combine a chain lock with a fatbike alarm; you can also hide your own tracker in a GPS bike bell.
Choose accessories based on your use: saddle bags, phone holders, lights and locks. At Fatbikeklaar.nl you can find a wide range. Start, for example, with seats & racks, the Ouxi front rack or the alarm systems.
A white headlight and a red rear light are legally required in the dark. You'll find both in the range at Fatbikeklaar.nl. You'll find them per model under lighting, such as the Ouxi headlight (3rd generation) and the Ouxi rear light.
On most fatbikes with a rear rack you can mount a rear seat, for example for a child. Choose a seat that fits your model and check the maximum load capacity of your rack. Always ride restricted with a child on the back, and make sure the seat is firmly attached before you set off. Suitable seats are the Ouxi V8/C80 rear seat and the V20 rear seat; more under seats & racks.
Use a bike carrier that is suitable for e-bikes: fatbikes are heavier (often 30+ kg) and have wide tyres, so check your carrier's maximum load capacity and wheel width. Remove the battery and the display during transport: that saves weight and prevents damage or theft. Handy at your destination: a fatbike lock, a fatbike pump and a fatbike bag.
At least an ART-2 approved lock, such as the ART2 or ART3 chain lock among our locks. Go straight to the ART3 chain lock; extra secure with a fatbike alarm or a GPS bike bell for your own tracker.
A separate alarm (Basic or Premium) fits any fatbike. The built-in alarm fits, among others, the Ouxi V8, C80 and Q8 and the QMWheel V20, V20 Pro and V20 Mini. Go straight to the Basic alarm, the Premium alarm or the built-in alarm.
For the Ouxi V8, C80, H9 and Q8 there is the Ouxi headlight, for the QMWheel V20, V20 Pro, S20 and V30 the V20 headlight. Each light lists the model it fits. Go straight to the V20 headlight, the V20 rear light or the Ouxi headlight with indicator.
That depends on how you use it: usually a good lock, lighting, a phone holder and a bag. View all accessories. Go straight to locks, phone holders or the fatbike bag with phone compartment.
