Short answer: go for the QMWheel V20 Pro if you mostly ride alone, stay well under 60 km a day and want to get started from € 949. Go for the Ouxi V8 Ultra Max if you want to cover 120 km or more without charging in between, or regularly ride long distances with two people.

Who is the V20 Pro for?
The V20 Pro is the fatbike for riders who mostly ride solo and don't cover extreme distances. On paper, 60 km at medium assistance is 25 km to work or school and 25 km back on a single charge; expect less range in a headwind or with a passenger.
At approx. 34 kg it's the lighter of the two. You get a suspension fork and hydraulic disc brakes. Depending on version and delivery you pay € 949 to € 1.149; if your budget is around a thousand euros, the V20 Pro is the logical choice.
Who is the V8 Ultra Max for?
The V8 Ultra Max is built around two batteries: 1440 Wh combined, double that of the V20 Pro, good for 120 km at medium assistance.
An extended saddle and footrests for a passenger come as standard, as do front and rear suspension, an LED headlight and tail light and a built-in alarm. Right now we include accessories, parts and a maintenance kit; the current set is listed on the product page. On the flip side, the V8 Ultra Max weighs 40 kg, takes 5 to 7 hours to charge and costs € 1.400 to € 1.600.
Battery and range
This is the biggest difference: 720 Wh versus 1440 Wh, or 60 versus 120 km at medium assistance. These are indicative figures: a headwind, a passenger, lots of stop-start riding and low tyre pressure all cut into the range. So look at how far you ride on a normal day. If you stay well under 60 km and charge overnight, 720 Wh is enough and with the V8 Ultra Max you'd be paying for range you don't use. If you ride long distances every day, often with two people or with the assistance set high, the double battery is the number one reason to go for the V8 Ultra Max.
Riding with two people
Both are rated for 2 riders, with a maximum load of 150 kg. The V8 Ultra Max has an extended saddle and footrests as standard and its double battery absorbs the extra consumption of a passenger. Regularly carrying someone on the back and covering serious distances? Then the V8 Ultra Max is the logical choice. The occasional passenger on short rides? The V20 Pro will do fine.
Restricted or unlockable: what's legal?
You can order both fatbikes in the Restricted (250W) or Unlockable version. Restricted has a 250 W motor with pedal assistance up to 25 km/h and a walk assist up to 6 km/h. That puts the fatbike in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany under the rules for a regular electric bike (pedelec): no licence plate, helmet requirement or insurance needed.
The Unlockable version can be unlocked to 45 km/h (V20 Pro) or 50 km/h (V8 Ultra Max). That is only permitted on private or closed-off property; once unlocked, it legally no longer counts as a bicycle. If you ride on the public road, it is your responsibility to make sure the assistance is restricted to 25 km/h. On top of that, we give no warranty on the unlockable version. Delivery, assembly and warranty
For delivery you choose In box or Assembled. With In box you put the fatbike together yourself. With Assembled we build it up, adjust the brakes and check the battery (both batteries on the V8 Ultra Max); it's delivered ready to ride.
We deliver bikes with our own delivery service; the driver hands the bike over to you in person. Delivery costs are € 59 in the Netherlands, € 79 in Belgium and € 239 in Germany. Order before 23:59 and you'll have it at home the next working day; for Germany we arrange the delivery time via WhatsApp. See our shipping policy.
Warranty: 3 years on the frame and 1 year on the battery and moving parts, only with the combination Restricted (250W) and Assembled; with Unlockable or In box we give no warranty. Your statutory rights as a consumer always remain in place. An extra year of warranty costs € 129. See our warranty policy.
Our advice
- Riding solo, commuting to work or school, able to charge every day: the V20 Pro. Lighter, cheaper, and 60 km is enough for most days.
- Long rides, not wanting to charge every day or often riding with two: the V8 Ultra Max: 120 km at medium assistance, extended saddle and footrests as standard.
- Budget around a thousand euros: the V20 Pro. The difference in starting price is € 451; with the V8 Ultra Max you're mainly paying that for the second battery.
Whichever you choose: go for Restricted and Assembled if you want to ride on the public road and value your warranty. You'll find all models among our fatbikes; still not sure? Send us a WhatsApp message.
Frequently asked questions
Can I ride the unlockable V20 Pro or V8 Ultra Max on the public road?
No. On the public road you ride restricted to 25 km/h. The unlocked mode (45 km/h on the V20 Pro, 50 km/h on the V8 Ultra Max) is for private or closed-off property only, and the unlockable version comes without warranty.
Which fatbike is best for two people?
Both are rated for 2 riders. The V8 Ultra Max has an extended saddle and footrests as standard and a 1440 Wh double battery, making it the roomier choice if you often ride with two.
What is the difference between In box and Assembled for the warranty?
We only give a warranty on Restricted (250W) combined with Assembled. With In box you assemble it yourself and the warranty is void.
What rider height are the V20 Pro and V8 Ultra Max suitable for?
Both are rated for riders from 150 to 200 cm and have a high step-over frame. The maximum load is 150 kg for both; the V20 Pro has a frame size of 75 cm.
