Tuning the Ouxi V8: which display and which controller

Please note: tuning is only intended for use on private or enclosed property. On public roads in the Netherlands and Belgium, a maximum of 25 km/h applies; in other countries, the rules of that country apply.

To tune an Ouxi V8 you always need a tunable display and a tunable controller. Which controller fits depends on your model (V8, V8 2025 or V8 Ultra) and on the colour of your motor plug: red or black. According to the product data, these parts can be tuned up to 50 km/h, only for use on private or enclosed property.

Which display and which controller per model

Model Display Controller
V8 with red motor plug HC80 display tunable (without NFC), HC80 display tunable with NFC or M5 display tunable (2.0) V8 / C80 controller tunable, red motor plug
V8 with black motor plug HC80 display tunable (without NFC), HC80 display tunable with NFC or M5 display tunable (2.0) V8 / C80 controller tunable, black motor plug
V8 2025 The V8 2025 has a new display (4.0 generation): send us a photo via WhatsApp and we will tell you which tunable display fits. V8 2025 controller tunable, red motor plug
V8 Ultra M5 display tunable (2.0) or HC80 display tunable with NFC V8 Ultra controller tunable, red motor plug
V8 Ultra Max HC80 display tunable with NFC V8 / C80 controller tunable, red motor plug
Q8 M5 display tunable (2.0) Q8 controller tunable, red motor plug
H9 HC80 display tunable (without NFC), HC80 display tunable with NFC or M5 display tunable (2.0) H9 controller tunable, black motor plug

Choose the same type of display that is currently on your bike: HC80 (with or without NFC) or the M5 display of the 2.0 generation. If you ride a V8 Pro or V8 Max, first send us a photo of your motor plug and controller via WhatsApp.

Which plug colour do you have?

Look at the plug in the motor cable: the cable that runs from the motor in the rear wheel to the controller. If that plug is red, choose a controller with a red motor plug; if it is black, choose a controller with a black motor plug. A controller with the wrong colour will not work on your bike. In the selection guide you can see which part fits each model.

What is in the box?

  • Display: the display with two small screws, nuts and rubber pads for mounting.
  • Controller: the controller, in compact packaging.
  • If you order a bike from the tunable fatbikes in the Tunable version, the tuning parts are already included.

Installation in outline

  • Switch the bike off and remove the battery.
  • Display: disconnect the plug, unscrew the clamp on the handlebar and fit the new display in the same place. Push the plug in straight and without force.
  • Controller: remove the saddle first, then you can easily reach the controller. Take a photo of the old connections and reconnect the 5 cables in the same order.
  • Then set up the display according to the instructions with the product.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a display and a controller for the Ouxi V8?

Yes. Tuning always requires a tunable display and a tunable controller together; one of the two is not enough.

Which controller fits my Ouxi V8?

Look at the colour of your motor plug and choose the tunable controller with the same colour. The V8 2025 and V8 Ultra have their own controller.

HC80 or M5: which display do I choose?

Choose the same type as your current display. The M5 display belongs to the 2.0 generation of Ouxi.

What does NFC do on the HC80 display?

With NFC, you switch the bike on with an NFC card. Only choose NFC if your current display also has NFC.

How quickly will I receive the parts?

Order before 23:59, delivered tomorrow. Shipping within the Netherlands costs €7.95 and is free from €150.

All separate tuning parts are in the tuning kits.
