Tuning the Ouxi C80: why via the display?
On the C80 and C80 Pro, replacing the display is the most popular route: no soldering, no complicated mechanical work. The tunable HC80 display removes the limiter and you ride at up to 50 km/h.
Would you rather tackle the controller, for example because you're still perfectly happy with your current display? Then the V8/C80 tunable controller is a great alternative. HC80 with NFC or without NFC: which one do you choose?
Both versions fit your C80; the difference lies in how you start the fatbike:
- HC80 Tunable with NFC (our recommendation): your fatbike only starts with the NFC card. Nobody else can switch it on, which helps against theft. And children can't switch the bike on without the card.
- HC80 Tunable without NFC: start with a PIN code.
Please note: do you have a C80 Mini or C63 Mini? Those need the special 36V version of the HC80 display.
Killswitch: switching between 25 and 50 km/h
Both tuning displays have a killswitch: it lets you put the bike back into the standard 25 km/h mode in a matter of seconds. That way you use full speed on private grounds and switch back just as easily.
Installation: replacing the HC80 display in four steps
- Switch off the fatbike and remove the battery (or switch it off).
- Detach the original display from the handlebars and disconnect the plug.
- Connect the HC80 display to the same plug and mount it on the handlebars.
- Battery back in, enter the code, and first test gently on private grounds.
